SAMPLE PROJECT

  • Step One, sharing the DreamSharing The Dream

The initial meeting between you and our experts establishes parameters for the project. It's an exciting time. Ideas are presented. First thoughts that will help magical jewellery happen, are informally shared.

There will be questions that will lead to creative answers. Special gemstones? A family heirloom that is being incorporated into something new and different? Sketches of potential design styles? Something that now is only a dream?

We will expertly guide you in the creative process. Having created a framework of expectations, our experts will provide samples of other work we have done; show you computer images that will help to guide direction; discuss design aspects that will bring focus to the contemplated work.

This initial, complimentary meeting always introduces new ideas into a client's thinking, and often results in the nicest of surprises. An estimate for the contemplated work will be developed at this meeting, and reshaped as necessary to match the assignment.

"Wonderful things happen in the creative process, and we've seen it again and again. Spirits are lifted, the smiles happen . . . It's a delight to know that we are creating something unique . . . a very personal icon." Jennifer Gargon
  • Step One, sharing the Dream The Elements of Excellence

There are many ways to create custom designed jewellery. But common to every project is a need to make certain that there is complete understanding as to what elements will be incorporated into the finished piece. The metal, the stones, the balance of design, the function, and more. Custom jewellery is a very personal statement. It will be treasured by whoever wears it, noticed by everyone who sees it. At Jewellery Artists 3D, all of these things are understood. Everyone involved is very aware of the importance of their assignments. Few things are as precious to us as your precious jewellery. This is why the second step in making excellence happen is conducted with such care.

Design consultation to establish the elements of excellence happens in a one-on-one meeting with either David Penner or Jennifer Gargon, or both. You are guided through every detail, and all questions will be answered. The gemstone selection, the metal choices, the conceptual ideas, the reative brilliance, the engineering considerations, and the integration of artistic balance all start to combine to create the architecture of beauty. The elements will then be in place for the sparkle soon to come.

  • Seeing and Almost TouchingSeeing, and Almost Touching

Once our team has absorbed all of the information from the design consultation meeting, synthesized the concept, worked out the technical specifications, and completed hours of design programming, your virtual jewellery will be ready for you to see.

Clients find this fascinating—and exciting. The ideas that had been nothing more than dreams, have now become high quality computer images, renderings in digital form of what will soon become the real thing.

You will be able to see your jewellery model from any angle, to zoom in on detail, zoom out for the big picture. It's another exciting moment.

It is time for a final critique of all of the design elements. Together, you and our experts carefully view all the design and gemstone features that will be transformed into the final piece. If adjustments are required, they can be made at this time. Approval and production follow.
"Computer imagery in the creation of jewellery? Seeing is understanding. Pictures in three dimension are powerful visual tools that not only eliminate guesswork, but are road maps for shared artistic goals." David Penner
  • Shaped, Burnished, Brilliant

All of the approvals are in place, and the physical work proceeds. Combining the latest computer and laser technology, prototypes are made, metals are shaped and burnished, gemstones are carefully set in place. It is the last step in the creation of dazzling jewellery excellence.

From time to time, we have all been involved in buffing metals to make them shine. The silver tea service that has oxidized and requires buffing before the guests arrive for the big dinner. The new look gladdens our hearts! In our work, taking metal from its raw, rough form and turning it into a gleaming wearable work of art is exceedingly rewarding. There is a great satisfaction in revealing the real beauty of precious metal.

The skills involved in the crafting of jewellery have evolved over the centuries as we humans continue to be attracted by metals and jewels that we treasure. While JA3D has led with technological change, old-world knowledge is still incorporated into carving, shaping and burnishing the metal of every piece we make. Many decades of experience lead to knowing the precise amount and angle of the metal needed to securely hold your treasured diamonds. It’s a detailed process that reveals bright, shiny, secure perfection.

At Jewellery Artists 3D, our goals are only met when our clients are ecstatic about their new jewellery—when we have exceeded their expectations..
